Toby Dunan
Drum Teacher
Toby started playing drums at a very young age and has been studying and performing for over a decade. At the Wollongong Conservatorium, he had the opportunity to study drum set performance with Alex Masso, Latin percussion with Fabian Hevia, jazz piano with Nick Southcott, and attend numerous workshops with some of the best musicians from around the world.
Toby achieved his bachelor degree in Jazz Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium, where he studied with some of the foremost drummers in Australia including Andrew Dickeson, Dr. Simon Barker, and James Waples.
Working regularly as a drummer in Sydney and Wollongong, Toby has a great deal of experience performing drums and percussion with a range of ensembles, including wind orchestra, big band, jazz, roving brass, and funk groups.
Years of performance experience and study with great teachers have equipped Toby with the knowledge and practical skills to provide valuable drum set instruction to students of all ages and levels. He is passionate about music education and tailors his lessons to best suit each student’s way of learning, and support them towards their goals.
