LILIJA SILE

Lilija has studied and obtained Bachelors Degree in Music at Latvian National Academy of Music as an Opera and Concert Soprano. She has international experience as a solo singer  and was a leading soprano in the Latvian National Opera and performed lieding Soprano roles in: ‘Iolanta' ( Tchaikovsky), ‘Rigoletto' (Verdi), ‘La Boheme’ (Puccini). Singing in 10 languages, she performed Opera and Music Theatre in Russia and has given guest performances in Oratorio and Concerts in Europe and Japan.

 

From 1991, Lilija has performed in concerts in most capital cities in Australia. She was a soloist with the ‘Sydney University Grads Choir’ (conductor Christopher Bowen) and recorded the “Christmas Oratorio” by Saint-Saens (soprano solo) as well as having recorded 12 Chopin Songs and a  nine 30 minute concerts that have been broadcast on classical radio 2MBS-FM. Also, Lilija recorded the soprano solo for the TV series and CD of “Australians at War” (music by Roger Mason).

 

Lilija is an accredited vocal tutor with more than 30 years of experience. She specializes in teaching Classical and Music Theatre styles for young and developing voices, as well as advanced adult voice, and coaches in European languages for singers. She also prepares singers for AMEB, HSC exams, auditions and competitions and teaches Contemporary-Popular styles and techniques, preparing singers for CPM (AMEB).

From 2005 - 2012 Lilija was a lecturer in Voice (Tertiary level) and teaching in the Open/Young program at the Australian Institute of Music.

From 2001 -2013 a voice Tutor at Central Coast Conservatorium

From 2002-2010 Director of the Vocal Ensemble

From 2003-2010 was Head of the Vocal Department

From 2002 -2012 Director of Central Coast Conservatorium Opera and

directed: 'Amahl and Night Visitors' by G.C.Menotti, 'Brundibar' by H.Krasa, 'Seeds of the Soul' by local Composer P.Rutherford, ‘Help, Help, The Globolinks!’ by Gian Carlo Menotti
