Samuel Giddy
Piano Teacher
Samuel Giddy enjoys a varied and extensive career as a soloist, accompanist, church musician and educator. He holds an AMusA in piano performance and has performed frequently as an accompanist and chamber musician. He also holds a Bachelor of Music Performance from Sydney Conservatorium ,where he majored in organ performance and graduated in 2019 with first-class honours and the Frank Hutchens Student of the Year Award. As an organist Samuel has performed extensively in Australia and abroad, including solo recitals in the English cathedrals of Chester, Guildford, and Blackburn, in Sydney Town Hall and Brisbane City Hall. In 2024 he was awarded third prize in the International Martini Organ Competition in Groningen, Netherlands, resulting in recital engagements in the Netherlands in 2025.
Samuel also has extensive teaching experience, both privately and as a piano teacher for Eastern Suburbs Piano Tuition and organ teacher for the Sydney Conservatorium Open Academy. As a teacher, he aims to inspire students with a love of music, progressing beyond the mechanics of keyboard technique to instil a deep understanding of the Western classical canon. His teaching style is warm, engaging, and socratic, with a concern for students’ musical enjoyment.
