AMEB THEORY ONLINE COURSE
This AMEB course is specifically designed for students who need additional theory exams to fulfill the requirements to receive an AMEB certificate. The course is open and relevant to students of all instruments - it is not piano-specific.
The AMEB does not award certificates for music exams above Grade 6 unless the corresponding theory grade has been passed as well, so students sitting for exams will need to begin theory study by the time they reach grade 5, if they have not already done so.

For the Grade 6 exam, Grade 2 Theory is required
For the Grade 7 exam, Grade 3 Theory is required
For the Grade 8 exam, Grade 4 Theory is required

This course will support practical skills developed in practical lessons, and will take away some of the time pressure the student may feel when trying to complete their theory work during their piano or other instrumental lesson, in addition to working on advanced pieces.
ABOUT THE COURSE
This AMEB course is specifically designed for students who need additional theory exams to fulfill the requirements to receive an AMEB certificate.
Above Grade 6, the certificate will only be awarded when both the principal (practical/performance) and the theory exams are passed.

THIS IS FOR STUDENTS:
Who are learning instruments (piano/violin/others) with at least Grade 2/3 level
Who need additional theory exams to fulfill the requirements of AMEB
Who want to improve their musical knowledge to support their playing
MATERIALS YOU NEED
AMEB Official booklets for grade 1 -3
"How to Blitz! Musicianship" for grade 4
"Master Your Theory" for grade 5 and above

Books from other series may be used as a substitute if you already have the book.
Please check with us prior to the lesson to confirm if your chosen book matches our requirements.

This lesson is conducted online. You can take it on your desktop, laptop, ipad, or even phone! You'll only need a device with a camera and microphone. Don't worry - you will be muted during the lesson, unless you want to ask a question! This means you won't hear background noise from the other students, either.
