ALEXEY KOLTAKOV

Ukrainian-born pianist Alexey Koltakov is a prize winner of many prestigious competitions including San Antonio International Piano Competition (1st Prize), Hilton Head International Piano Competition (2nd Prize) and Van Cliburn International Piano Competition (Finalist).
Alexey has toured Russia, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Germany, France, Israel, Italy, Malaysia, China, Australia, Mexico, and USA. He had performed with such renowned conductors as James Conlon, JoAnn Falletta, Mykola Dyadyura, and Enrique Batiz.
Alexey began playing piano at the age of 6 and gave his first recital when he was 8 years old. In 1998, Alexey graduated from the Kharkov's Special Music School and moved to Sydney where he taught at the Australian Institute of Music. In 2006 Alexey was invited to Texas Christian University by Dr. Tomas Ungar, where Alexey completed his Artist Diploma. In 2008, Alexey moved to New York and completed his BM and MM at the Juilliard School where he studied piano with Dr. Yoheved Kaplinsky.
Since 1999 Alexey has taught privately and has over 18 years of teaching experience .
